35 Days to Go …. 2007 Targa

Quickly Targa is arriving again. This year our Porsche team will be joined by Rex Broadbent and Michael Goedheer in the Daytona, as the Dial Before You Dig Team cars. Rex and Mike have been very successful in both Targa Tasmania and Classic Adelaide, winning the Classic 5 years in a row.

Our car is currently in being prepared by Peter Bowen from Porsche Centre Melbourne, and as Pete is heavily involved in Porsche Carrera Cup, and the array of historic cars that competed at the recent Phillip Island Historic event, Pete will be pressed to complete the checks and preparation before the end of month.

The car needs a new windscreen, new harnesses for both driver and navigator and the usual, tyres, brake pads, brake fluid and other general preparation for the event.

We have yet to organise the pre scrutineering check in melbourne, and we still need our rally notes and general list of items to update or replace old or expired components.

We are pushing to complete the car so we can I can do a shakedown at Phillip Island the last weekend of the month. If not we will need to find time for a practise day to get everything into the groove.

We are hoping to run an in car camera setup this year, so further setup is under way for this equipment. With The Melbourne GP this week, there is little time before the PI run on the 25th March. As per normal, many things are left till the last minute, but as normal the focus should provide the required level of preparation required.

We are also hoping to provide some form of GPS tracking solution over the event, but the implementation of this changes for the website are still being resolved. We will attempt some tests in the coming weeks.
