Preparation has begun for 2007
Sunday, August 20th, 2006After completing the registration process before 31st July 2006 (including the payment of the full registration fee) we have commenced the 2007 campaign.
We are currently negotiating sponsorship for 2007, and recently received an impressive DVD of footage from 2006 Targa. Southern Cross TV provided this footage at cost to my sponsor, and this is the most impressive, professionally shot video, that I have ever seen of the car in action. We were also given a copy of the new story that appeared on Local TV the Saturday night before the event.
Nothing like some commercial video to wet the appetite of the sponsors. The next steps include booking of accommodation for the event … try and keep the costs down.
We have also decide to enter the car as a 1988 CS. This achieves a number of things. The Car will still be in the same class and category, but we are allowed a limited slip diff, front and rear spoilers, less weight and larger wheels. Why wouldn’t we ???? It will mean that the engine rebuild I was hoping for might be pushed until late 2007. We will wait and see.
